Introduction to Good Food Village Square

In both ancient and some illumined current cultures, the village square has served as a marketplace for the exchange of goods and ideas. It is a social space for connection, learning, dialogue, and friendship.  On the first day of FAS 2008, the Good Food Village Square had:

  • Explored the questions in the Good Food System from multiple perspectives: What is working? What do we not know?
  • Brought real work into the room to inform the work of the conference.
  • Grounded the gathering in real projects for real change.
  • Supported leadership and strategic direction of projects and individuals.
  • Supported the collective learning of the Good Food System.
  • Built a shared sense of who we are together.
